Charity eBingo Benefits Two Rivers Ride For Cancer

Keith Young, GMS Senior Partner, presenting a donation check to Patty Hinds of Two Rivers Ride for Cancer Board Member.

GMS employees recently held a game of charity eBingo and one of our lucky winners was Jenni Hakey, Agent, in our Colebrook office.

She chose Two Rivers Ride For Cancer as her charity in memory of Debbie Lynch (Jenni’s cousin who passed away on 6/21/2025).

Debbie would always participate in the bike ride with the “Colby Family” in honor of Mildred Colby (Debbie’s mom and Jenni’s Aunt).

We are proud to give back to the communities we serve.

Geo. M. Stevens & Son Co Acquires Hunkins & Eaton Insurance Agency

As one of the oldest businesses in Littleton, the Hunkins & Eaton Insurance Agency provided insurance services to the North Country since 1880 - two years before Geo. M. Stevens & Son Co.

Throughout their history, quite a lot changed. As the area grew, they expanded their services to eventually include the entire North Country and Vermont areas. The firm sold and serviced property and casualty insurance, including personal automobile, homeowners, umbrellas, and all business insurance products.

In 1880, the original insurance firm was founded by Benjamin Corning, a local sheriff. In 1890, he was joined by Orrin Hunkins. Together, they renamed the business the Hunkins & Eaton Insurance Agency. The firm operated from an office on Main Street in Littleton.

Winton and Patricia Eastman purchased the business in 1957. In May 1991, their son, Greg joined the firm and purchased the business in October, 1993. Greg owned and operated the business through November 2024, when he sold the business to the Geo. M. Stevens & Son Agency, of Lancaster, Littleton, Lisbon, and Colebrook, New Hampshire. Hunkins & Eaton was one of the oldest continuously operated businesses on Main Street in Littleton.

From the beginning, the greatest asset of Hunkins & Eaton Insurance Agency had been its employees. With a history of long-tenured, professional customer service representatives and agents, Hunkins & Eaton Insurance Agency succeeded on the basis of professionalism, trust and honesty. As an independent Trusted Choice agency, they matched their customer’s requirements with the appropriate and competitive insurance product.

Geo. M. Stevens & Son Co. is proud to employ many of Hunkins & Eaton’s employees, and to continue their legacy of outstanding customer service.
